Sunnyside Title Continues to Look On the Bright Side Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

Sunnyside Title Agency Recognizes Crucial Employee For Outstanding Remote Work
June 12, 2020
Throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunnyside Title Insurance Agency has continued to take new and practical steps to protect both its employees and clients while operating as an essential New Jersey business. Now operating with many of its employees working remotely, Sunnyside anticipates implementing some of its new procedures permanently.
Since NJ governor Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in early March, Sunnyside has worked hard to ensure that all clients and employees are kept safe while conducting purchase and refinance closings. Most of these processes are now conducted remotely over Zoom, FaceTime, or Microsoft Teams, with purchase closings only requiring the buyer’s presence in-person.
Any employees or clients entering Sunnyside’s Hackensack headquarters for purchase closings or company business are given face masks and gloves, and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Conference rooms are also disinfected and cleaned after every closing to keep everyone involved safe.
Compounding on these previously implemented practices, Sunnyside Title has ordered custom washable and reusable face masks, which will be given to all employees and clients. These masks are expected to arrive in late May or early June.
“As soon as we found out we were an essential business, we immediately began looking for ways to protect our employees and clients,” said Robert and Angela Viggiano, owners and founders of Sunnyside Title, “At this time, safety is our biggest priority. We want to do our part to keep the numbers down amidst this pandemic.”
Sunnyside’s precautionary measures have been well received by its clients.
“I just wanted to take a moment to compliment your team. These have been truly challenging times, and your people continue to provide seamless service to our clients,” stated an anonymous client, “As you know, I have to work with other title companies for orders I don’t control so I can tell you with certainty that other title companies are not competing with your talent.”
In recent weeks, NJ governor Murphy has begun to allow for the opening of beaches and recreational parks and announced Monday that retail stores may open for curbside pickup, with falling numbers of new cases and hospitalizations allowing for a gradual reopening. Despite these state restrictions beginning to lift, many of Sunnyside Title’s new procedures may continue after state precautions have lifted.
“This virus is incredibly contagious, and the numbers are changing every day,” stated Robert Viggiano, “We will be looking closely at the situation and will look to lift our safety precautions when we feel the time is right, and our employees and clients will be at their safest.”
Like many other businesses, Sunnyside Title is considering more remote business practices permanently, allowing some of their agents to work from multiple days per week.
“Having our employees work remotely throughout the last few months has been extremely successful, and is definitely something worth continuing in the future, after the COVID-19 pandemic has run its course.” continued Viggiano, “People are comfortable working from home, and the ability to conduct closings remotely has been very successful for us.”
